It is 1985. The Soviet Union has tightened its grip on Eastern Europe. The tension of the Cold War still looms over the world like a dark cloud. But, in an alternate reality, it's 1985- and not everything is as it seems... A mysterious organization called the "Circle" has developed over the years after WWII and now holds most of Europe under it's thumb through fear and oppression. In this Orwellian-esque world where you're constantly monitored by cameras and live in fear of being arrested, only one man can stop them from controlling your country: Bob Chapman. However, in order to do so he will have to find a way around the Circle's high-tech surveillance network. With the help of his trusty Amiga 500, Bob will not only have to fight against The Circle, but also against his own willpower. Can Bob overcome the system, stave off death and destruction and save Europe? Only one man can prevent 1984 from becoming reality. You are that man! Workers & Resources is probably the most straightforward game ever made because it doesn't feature any real puzzles to solve. It is just one big action sequence broken up into about 20 small parts, each packed with enough action to satisfy even the most demanding gamer! You play the role of Bob Chapman. A lone freedom fighter in an Orwellian Europe. The Circle, the name of the Orwellian-like organization that rules Europe, is keeping an eye on Bob's old friend Palma (the player) through the use of the newest surveillance technology the world has ever known. As Bob tries to clear his mind of all thoughts not related to work he will be seen by guards at any given moment and reported for committing an "Anti-Circle thought crime". If this happens, your game will be over immediately. The only way to prevent this from happening is by working hard... no matter how little you like it! The game does include a timer, which you will have to fight against in order to complete your mission at all. This is the only way to keep track of your mission time. The game itself is so simple to play that even a child could do it, but the challenge is there for the adults. Workers & Resources has been said to be so challenging that even the world's best players have had trouble completing it! "We have played through this game countless times - some people have done this on their own without our help - but still nobody has completed even one run of this game in it's full version." says Steffen Müller, one of Workers & Resources' developers. The official launch date for "Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic" was August 6, 2007. It was released on the C64 cartridge format by Psytronik Software Ltd. at the World of Commodore event in Middlesbrough, UK. Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic received positive reviews from critics. The game currently holds a score of 82% on Gamebase64, based on an average rating of 2.00 from 8 votes. "That's right! We have a Megagame!" says Steffen Müller when asked about a possible future release through Ultimate Play The Game or a similar company that does fan releases for old games. cfa1e77820
